This beautiful cake stand is made in Ireland by Belleek Pottery. The basket weave is a timeless design first created in the 1880s. The simplicity of the pattern is based on the weave used in wickerwork baskets, woven throughout Ireland in the last century. The cake stand has been hand painted with shamrocks symbolizing the emblem of Ireland.

I have been eyeing this cake plate for a while now and finally decided the time was right. I am delighted I did.Like all Belleek products, it is a piece of art. Almost too pretty to use, but I shall manage! My only “surprise” is that it is a bit smaller than I had thought, but that really is no major issue. I have cakes in all sizes and am sure I will serve the right fit! Again it is a beautiful piece.
