This coatigan is absolutely beautiful! Just the right weight for the crisp New England weather. I already have five Irish knit sweaters but I've had my eye on this coatigan for a while. When it went on sale, I jumped at the chance to purchase it. It arrived with a few days. I purchased the charcoal one and the color is perfect. Be sure to look carefully at the sizing chart. I usually wear a medium sweater but according to the chart (as well as some customer feedback), I ordered a small. It was a perfect fit. The double zipper is a great feature as it will make it more comfortable when sitting down or driving. I am so pleased with the product. I showed it to my best friend and she immediately ordered one for herself. Sh is very pleased as well. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Blarney!

I love the Irish knit sweaters. This is my fifth one, although I bought them when I was in Ireland. I have had my eye on this coatigan on the website for a while. When it went on sale, I jumped at the chance. I am so glad I did. The coat is beautiful and warm enough for Autumn in New England. I love the double zip so it can be unzipped from the bottom when sitting. I showed my friend and she immediately went on line and ordered one. I recommend looking at the sizing chart before ordering. I am usually a medium but the small fit perfectly. I am a very happy customer!

This is a beautiful item! It took a little while to arrive (although it was not outside of the expected timeframe) and was worth the wait. The quality is excellent. For the price, it is more substantial than I expected, which made me feel that it was a great value. It is a perfect weight - not too heavy, not too light. I did not follow the advice to size down (I felt I was right in between sizes so I went for the larger size). I am 5'3", 115 lbs. with a somewhat petite frame and size small is a comfortable fit (not ultra-tailored) but absolutely perfect for a coatigan. I am very happy with this item.

Love it! looks great, love the color (charcoal). The knit pattern, length and fitted cut are stylish. The up/down zippers are handy and love the design details - pockets, zipper pulls wide neckline. The merino is soft, the jacket is warm but not too bulky. A winner! Size XS was a perfect fit (I'm a size 6 top/size 4 bottom in US sizes)

What a great sweater! While it's still summer and about 10 weeks away from sweater weather here, it will clearly be warm but not too hot. While heavy weight, it is not the heaviest of Blarney's sweaters (the Deidre seems a lot heavier to me), so it will do what I wanted: great for sweater weather in fall & early spring, but it also fits under my winter coats (I buy them large enough to accommodate sweaters) for indoor use in the coldest weather. While I previously planned to look for a black sweater, I chose the charcoal based on other review(s)which said it was dark, but pleasanter than stark black, and I agree. It is a lovelier color in person than even on my monitor. Charcoal should also need washing less often. Yea! The charcoal also beautifully complements my silver, slightly peppery hair. The pattern is gorgeous. Fitting notes: I'm only 5 feet tall, normal weight (107), but fully figured, including a waist that's expanded some with age & illness -- yet the sweater still looks good on me, better than another coatigan I tried. I will have to tuck the cuffs underneath and tack it there, because the sleeves are too long, at least for my taste (I don't like sleeves down to the start of my thumb). If you buy this (or any!) sweater, I HIGHLY recommend buying from Blarney. I've had the best customer service that I can ever recall from Lorraine, the great lady on the other end of any email addressed to customer service. While she's obviously busy and therefore it may take 2-3 work days to get a response, she patiently answered many questions re: the products and how they fit. I did use their free returns/exchange policy (USA & EU, as I understand; there's a link to this info at the bottom of many Blarney web pages). Because I'm hard to fit, I really appreciate this policy. A great company in my opinion: beautiful products, fair prices, free returns/exchanges, and great customer service -- it doesn't get any better!

Absolutely gorgeous! I purchased the charcoal color after having my eye on it for awhile. I have bought a few pieces from Blarney Mills before and every one of them is well made and holds up over time too. I bought a small, and it fits a tad loose so a sweater can be worn underneath. It hits a bit above mid thigh, the weave is soft yet thick and I love the pattern. Couldn't be happier. Wore it for a morning walk after a sudden front dropped the temperature 30 degrees.

I am in love with my new sweater! It's beautiful and has a neat zipper pull. I can't believe how fast it got here (U.S.) from Ireland. I immediately tried it on and it is a perfect fit even with a long sleeved pullover top underneath. I am 5'6" and 120 lbs. and bought the XS. The sleeves are nice and long and I love having pockets although they aren't big enough for my phone. This sweater is perfect for keeping warm around the house in winter and when I'm outside with the dog. Arizona winters do get chilly! So glad I discovered this website.

I received my Coatigan yesterday and am so happy it fits perfectly!!! I took it off only to sleep. I was worried I might want a large because I like a relaxed fit, I'm 5.6" weight 138 and the medium is still generous. Love the zipper (unzips from the bottom as well as top) the charcoal color is very nice and the tunic length so flattering. This is a soft sweater not picky. I bought this sweater for my daughter as I was so happy with the one I bought for myself while in Ireland. This is a gorgeous sweater with many lovely stitches. It had a small problem with the zipper tape becoming unstitched but it was no trouble for me to fix it myself. I will definitely shop again at Blarney online.

The coat is beautiful. I purchased it in charcoal. The double zipper is great and high collar will be nice. I went with a small based on another review and hope that it does stretch a bit. It hasn't been cold enough to wear it yet. I was happy with how quickly it arrived In Pennsylvania. I have other sweaters and scarves that I purchased in Ireland. The sweaters are so warm and comfortable. I am sure the coat will be the same.

My partner bought this jacket for me on New Years Day this year and I Love, LoVE LOVE IT!!!!!! We almost bought a medium as it was the last one on the shop floor, but a really lovely sales guy went to the warehouse over the road from the mill and found me a small (I'm a size 12). Definately go for a size smaller than you would normally buy as iis weighty and it will stretch (it has). Don't wear anything too thick underneath it, is soooooo warm and snuggly you will overheat if you do. I wore it tonight, in Manchester and a lady asked me if I'd knitted it, when I showed her the label she went straight onto the website and bought one! Lol. Hardly surprising really, it is lovely. Have yet to wash it, says dry clean only but I am going to give it a 30 degree hand wash, I don't trust dry cleaners with it Go on treat yourself, you won't be disappointed X

Then I took it to the cleaners and they ruined it and refused to compensate me for the loss. I was devastated and contacted Blarney. I've always wanted a real Irish wool sweater so on my summer trip to Ireland, after trying on about a dozen items, I bought this warm sweater coat in the oatmeal color at Blarney Woolen Mills. It is a lovely, beautiful piece of clothing and I'm still waiting for it to be cold enough to wear it here at home in New Mexico (late October). I most like the double zipper and also the double collar which is snuggly but not scratchy. Sizing is generous; the small fits easily over street clothes.
