This sweater is handknit from locally sourced new wool in Donegal, a picturesque county in Ireland. Irish wool has a slightly more coarse and rugged feel than merino wool. Designed exclusively for Blarney Woollen Mills, the sweater itself is chunky, made to survive life on the Atlantic ocean. The stitches evoke a bygone age. It takes an average of 40 hours to complete a sweater but the knitters enjoy every second.

This is my second hand knit from Blarney Woollen Mills and I am not disappointed by any means. Expensive yes but the quality is once again unmatched. Warm and heavy this is a great sweater. Will be wearing it for years and hope to have it the rest of my life. Top quality sweater that you can't find anywhere in the United States. I now have a hand knit crew sweater in natural and charcoal colors. Ordered it in brown as well. It is on its way and I can't wait for it to arrive.
