A popular greeting in the Irish language, the word ‘Fáilte’ means welcome and this hand-crafted wall plaque from O'Gowna Studio is perfect for greeting visitors into your home. It has been hand-crafted with letters from the Ogham alphabet, first invented along with the Gaelic language soon after the fall of the Tower of Babel by the legendary Scythian king, Fenius Farsa. It is sometimes called the "celtic tree alphabet", and is based on a high medieval Bríatharogam tradition ascribing names of trees to the individual letters.

I ordered two of the Ogham plaques. They are so impressive, made of bronze and limestone they have a very rustic, authentic look and feel. The writing on them stands out and speaks of the past as you admire the ingenuity of the King who created this ancient form of communication. The plaques have quickly become treasured keepsakes for me, one will remain at my home and be hung in special place, the other will join my collection of Viking and Celtic treasures at my cabin. They are absolutely beautiful pieces and I would highly recommend them.
