The intricately woven cross of St. Brigid is traditionally made from rushes on February 1st to welcome springtime. Said to ward off evil, fire and hunger; the cross of St. Brigid is an old Irish symbol of protection. This detailed brooch, in precious alpaca silver, closely mimics the original cross of St. Brigid.
