I'm 6'4" and I have a larger frame, but I'm not a body builder or anything. I'm middle aged as well. Even in XXL, the shirt is tight in the shoulders and too short for tucking in unless I'm wearing high-waisted vintage-style trousers. The sleeve length was adequate for me, but again, the sleeves are tight enough to feel restrictive. The sleeve cuffs have only one button, and are too tight to allow wearing a wrist watch. There is no extra material in the sleeve cuffs to allow moving the button. In terms of size, I think the design only works on people shorter than me, or people that have narrow shoulders. I can still wear the shirt, but only if I'm not going to be doing much that day - it's fine for going out to dinner and that sort of thing, but not as an everyday shirt where I might be working in the shop or doing DIY. As to the fabric, there were a lot of loose thread ends in the color stripe - not where the pieces of fabric had been sewn together, but in the fabric itself. These can easily be burnt off with a lighter to make them tidy, but seems like a step I shouldn't have to do. I got the shirt in both blue and green stripes, and the blue was much worse than the green in this regard. I would still recommend this shirt, but just caution on the size. If you're tall, even slightly broad at the shoulder, or wear a large-size band on your wrist watch, the fit might not be good. I washed the shirt in cold water, let it hang dry and ironed it, and didn't notice any shrinkage. Upon arrival, the shirts had a distinct smell, but whether that's due to the packaging or not, I couldn't tell. The smell washed out.
