Product Care

Directions are as follows:

Wash with non-bio, dry naturally. Hand wash in a bath is best for a gentle wash. No harsh detergents as the skin can dry up with harsh products. Note: Woolwash should NOT be used. Woolwash is only safe for the wool, but is NOT safe for the pelt. If you don’t use the right soap the sheepskin may either fall apart or go hard and stiff. The wool may also matt up beyond salvage if you use the wrong type. Biological washing detergents contains harmful enzymes which will damage the hide itself.

The supplier is an Irish company which has been working with sheepskins since 1978 and their care instructions are tried and tested once they are followed correctly.

This rug was surprisingly large and oh, sooooo soft. Lovely quality and the skin was perfectly cured. We used it on a chair for a lamb themed party and also used one thrown over a table and decorated with other lamb themed items. Definitely a hit!

I purchased one sheepskin rug and it is far too nice to walk on. I have it on the foot of my bed and call it my pet. Where I live, anyone who walks into my room walks by by bed and pets it. That's why it's called my pet. I enjoyed that sheepskin so much I ordered another one and it is in my recliner. It is so nice to borrow into on a cold afternoon or evening. Right now I'm trying to figure out where I could put a third sheepskin as I really want to order another one.

We spent the month of September in Ireland. Shopping consisted of lovely sweaters and gifts for friends. I wanted a sheepskin but waited until we returned home and they went on sale at Blarney Woolen Mills. I bought two of the smaller size and i couldn't be more pleased. We received our Irish sheepskin rug that we ordered and could not be more pleased!! It was shipped very quickly and is absolutely beautiful!! My husband and I and several friends were in Ireland in July and stopped at Blarney Woollen Mills. We enjoyed our stop there and bought several items.
