In our native Irish language "cloicín" means "small stones". Inspiration for this pendant comes from the stony shoreline of Carlingford Lough where Garrett Mallon's studio is based. The etched surface reflects the sandy base on which the stones and pebbles lie. Its shape is reminiscent of a torque which were worn by the Celts as protection from evil forces.
