The stunning, scenic location of Skellig Michael is 8 miles off the coast of Portmagee in County Kerry. It rises majestically from the sea and on its summit is a well preserved 6th century monastic settlement. The island can be visited by boat and you may recognize it as it was used as a location for the Star Wars movie "The Last Jedi". This beautiful painting is from the artist Helen Magee, who takes inspiration from the stunning scenery of Ireland and paints in gouache, an opaque watercolor.
